Dual directional
vent termination
Positioning vent termination
- fit for purpose
The SUB/SUPER solution from Ventiq provides an innovative alternative to address this issue by increasing the number of vent outlets available. This system allows for adjustable vapor release directions tailored to the vessel’s operational requirements. The complexity arises from the need to position vent outlets without compromising essential ship operations, whether it’s air intakes, escape routes, or compliance with EX safety considerations.
These constraints often result in suboptimal design outcomes. For example, when docking at ports with restrictions on below-sea-level methanol vapor release, the venting can be redirected to an open-air solution. Conversely, when the vessel is stationed next to a superstructure for work, the vapor flow can shift from open air to subsea termination, enhancing safety for personnel in proximity to the superstructure.
The combination of XPL high‑high velocity pressure relief valves and the VQ‑SUB Pipe‑Away Pressure valve provides a unique, flexible solution that effectively addresses the regulatory challenges commonly associated with this type of vent system.
