The pressure opening settings for PV valves can and truly will fluctuate over time. This can be caused by several factors like weakening magnets, accumulation of salty deposits, the stickiness of cargo, lack of maintenance and so on. Verifying settings means increased safety. Pressure setting awareness is equally important to all members on and off the ship. Please note that if the test rig is equipped with an additional pressure tank, the PVT can also be used with regards to testing of leakage rate on pressure relief devices.
