VQBlue

High velocity
pressure vacuum valve

Reduce emissions & boost earnings with safe and blue technology

Ventiq - the preferred supplier of cargo vents for maritime use, is proud to introduce a quantum leap within the field of high velocity pressure vacuum valves

The design has evolved through intensive R&D over the last decade. Focus has been on key issues like minimized emissions, minimum of maintenance operations, fewer moving parts, lowest weight, highest degree of flexibility, the smartest solutions and smallest in size. Included is also oscillation-free motion on long and narrow pipe lengths with true high velocity - even at low flow rates.

VQ-Blue, high velocity PV valve

It all comes down to a safety vent valve in line with and beyond the expectations and demands from ship owners, yards, designers, consultants and classification societies.

Guided by international rules and regulations

VQBlue is in compliance with a conservative interpretation of current and expected rules and requirements. VQBlue has undergone the strictest tests ensuring a cargo vent valve with the safest operational profile.

Ventiq has taken the latest amendments issued by IMO/ISO into consideration and even gone beyond, focusing on safe operation and easy maintenance.

VQBlue - the sequential opening valve

Oil tankers carrying cargo is experiencing the loss of cargo in form of VOC being expelled from tanks influenced by factors such as temperature changes and sloshing inside the tank.

By introducing the sequential opening valve, emissions are reduced to a minimum. Instead of the traditional immediate full flow, the VQBlue features minimal partial pressure opening, with reduced flow and high closing pressure. If, however, pressure rises beyond cargo save mode, the valve automatically enter a larger flow mode in perfect tune with the given pump capacity

This means keeping more cargo where it should be, inside the tank, instead of becoming a greenhouse gas in the atmosphere.

New approach to maintenance

Finally; on-site modular maintenance
- without valve body dismantling.

As an example, the new VQBlue features tool-free change and/or cleaning of flame screens. Compared to conventional design the maintenance is done in seconds rather than spending a lot of man-hours on the job. All major components are easily dismantled, inspected and if necessary changed to new parts. Equally important; the valve body is left in place.

New thinking also covers low weight and size, in fact the new valve from Ventiq has the lowest weight/space ratio for an oscillation-free/VOC save valve on the market. In effect; components that are easier to handle.

Highlighted features for VQBlue

Patented flow controlled technology with low blowdown

Approved for long vent pipe operations. The VQBlue is a non-oscillating, non-chattering valve with a safe and balanced valve motion behavior

All parts to be accessed and maintained/exchanged from exterior

Tested by independent body and complies with the latest rules and regulations

Booster-free design with huge bore net clarence. This means reduced risk of parts getting stuck due to freezing and/or crystallizing cargo.

Minimized footprint in terms of size and weight

Easy access to flame arrester with swing-away technology. Reduces man-hours spent on maintenance. Comprises also automatic alignment for vacuum disc test lever after reassembly of the flame arrester.

Modular design with customized sizing to fit each individual project. Pressure and vacuum valve units to be uniquely combined to target ideal operation
